The land on the far side of the street slopes upwards and is dotted by a few homes. At right, a driveway extends halfway up the hill to a detached garage. Farther up the hill on the right, Edward L. Thrasher's residence stands. It is viewed from the rear. Scaffolding stands around its arched back porch. At center and to the left of the Thrasher residence, a wide strip of undeveloped land stretches up the hillside. Neighboring houses stand in partial view at left. The ten-foot extension of the retaining wall recently built out on city property on Thrasher's say-so, also is depicted.
