USC defeated the Golden Bears before more than 8000 fans with a score of 82 to 49. Wearing shorts and sleeveless shirts with their school's insignia the men are photographed mid-jump over their hurdles. The vast, empty coliseum can be seen in the distance surrounding them. Two unidentified athletes can be seen behind them approaching the final hurdle. Text from negative sleeve: TRACK, U.S.C. VS. CALIFORNIA Text from newspaper caption: THREE BIG MOMENTS IN BEAR-TROJAN MEET Top photo shows Morton Kaer, left, Kenny Grumbles and Leighton Dye racing over the low hurdles with Johnson, California's star, visible between Kaer and Grumbles. Grumbles won the race with Dye second. Kaer tuckered out and Johnson came up with a rush to grab third. In the middle, Talbot of California is seen winning the 440. On the left is Bruce Smith, U.S.C., with "Chink" Sauers, another Trojan, coming up behind Talbot.
