Photographs of different events from the same track meet appear with the article, "TROJAN TRACK TEAM OVERWHELMS OXY, 107 TO 33: BUD HOUSER GRABS OFF TRIO OF FIRST PLACES U.S.C. Athletes Score Clean Sweep in Five Events; Les Heilman Breaks Trojan Record TROJAN TRACK OUTFIT WINS," Los Angeles Times, 21 Feb. 1926: A1 An Oxy high-jumper is captured mid-air knocking over the bar during a jump attempt. The landing pit sprawls along the bottom edge. Beyond it, left-of-center, the high jumper is on his descent. His chest faces the camera as he head angles slightly downward towards the right and one of his legs stretches up to the left. He stretches both arms wide. The high jump bar falls from its support, mimicking the angle of the jumper. Beside the support post at left, a couple meet officials watch the attempt. In the distance, athletes sit on the field. The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum's stands stretch across the background. Photographs of different track events at the same meet appear with the caption, "TOO FAST FOR EVEN THE CAMERA'S EYE Ed House, Trojan sprint star, was credited with 10s. flat in the 100-yard dash at the Coliseum yesterday, the finish of which is shown below. One watch caught House at 9 7-10s., while another clocked him at 9 8-10s. He proved too speed for the camera, having passed the finish line when this photo was snapped. At the extreme right is Herschel Smith, who placed second. Bud Nash, third-place winner, is third from the left. Sauers of U.S.C. is second from the left while another Oxy man appears on the extreme left. Milton Nash is seen just behind Smith. In the lower photo Les Heilman is shown cracking the U.S.C. record in the mile, with Ralph Shawhan inches behind.
