Guy holds a coil of rope over one shoulder. Photograph appears with the article, "Airliner To Be Lowered By Giant 'Chute in Test," Los Angeles Times, 09 May 1935: A1. For the first time in history a transport plane will be lowered by a parachute from an altitude of 5000 feet.
