Les Vaughan, a political campaign worker, testifies before the Grand Jury on his roll in hiring an informant on behalf of Superior Judge Fletcher Bowron. The case centers around attempts to challenge perjury indictments against District Attorney Buron Fitts and his sister, Mrs. Berthal Gregory.
