Photograph of (L to R) attorney Arthur Veitch, Judge J. A. Bardin, attorney Roland Rich Woolley, and attorney L. W. Hammer, conferring.
Hammer, Woolley and Veitch represented evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson when she was accused of faking her own kidnapping. Monterey County Judge J. A. Bardin received an affidavit from a woman, known as Miss X, claiming she was the woman at the Carmel retreat, not McPherson during the time she was supposedly kidnapped. All four men testified in the impeachment trail in Sacramento of Judge Carlos S. Hardy, accused of taking bribe from McPherson.
