Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Civic activist Louise Ward Watkins was president of the Friday Morning Club from 1931 to 1934. Watkins, a Progressive Conservative, was involved with numerous civic organizations, and in 1938 became the first woman to run for the U.S. Senate in California.
