Emanuel Lasker, expert chess player, was here last week, and demonstrated his skill before several of the "rook hounds" of the city. In the group, from left to right, are B. G. Adams, of the L.A.A.C.; John Dougherty, chess and checker editor of The Times; G. S. G. Patterson, chess editor of the Mercury; Clarence Webber of the L.A.A.C., and Dr. Lasker, who is regarded as one of the world's best chess players.
