Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. A woman stands in front of the Standard Oil Company exhibit at the Food and Household Show holding a can of Oronite Fly Spray. The show was sponsored by the Southern California Retail Grocers Association. The exhibit features cans of various products, including Waxglo, Calol, and Oronite Furniture Polish, as well as mops and scrub brushes. There is a giant can of an Oronite product bearing the slogan, "It Shines Itself" on the side. A sign reads, "NRA we do our part," and "The Standard Oil Company of California manufactures more than 600 products from petroleum for the service of Motoring Industry Farm and Home." A man bends over in front of the neighboring Alpine Milk exhibit. A sign at the left of the photograph advertises a contest with prizes including Waxglo Liquid Wax and Waxglo Paste Wax.
