Handwritten on negative: Dick Retzer Max Gold
Text from negative sleeve: GOLD, MAX HANDBALL
Text from newspaper caption: Battles for L.A.A.C. Handball Title. Here's Dick Retzer, who will hook up with Max Gold this afternoon for the singles handball championship of the Los Angeles Athletic Club. Retzer won his way into the finals by defeating Bill Ranft, while Gold strode over the prostrate body of George Klawiter for the honor of fighting for the final laurels. It's a remarkable thing that old pals should be forced to become rivals for the throne, as this pair formerly held the national doubles title
