Text from news agency caption: WATCH YOUR CREDIT----------"P & A PHOTOS." LA 15013---------- (LOS ANGELES BUREAU) GOEBEL FINISHES TRANS CONTINENTAL HOP. ART GOEBEL, FLYING A LOCKHEED VEGA MONOPLANE ARRIVED AT MINES FIELD, LOS ANGELES JUST 23 HOURS AND 50 MINUTES FROM THE TIME HE LEFT ROOSEVELT FIELD, NEW YORK, AS AN ENTRY IN THE NON-STOP TRANS-CONTINENTAL AIR RACE. GOEBEL WAS FORCED TO LAND AT PHOENIX, ARIZ FOR GAS. TWO OTHER FLYERS, GEO. HALDEMAN AND LT. JACK ISEMAN BOTH FLYING BELLANCA PLANES WERE PRESUMED TO BE ON THEIR WAY, THOUGH NO WORD OF THEIR PROGRESS HAD BEEN RECEIVED FOR SOME TIME BEFORE GOEBEL'S ARRIVAL. HARRY TUCKER, FINANCIAL BACKER OF THE YANKEE DOODLE ACCOMPANIED GOEBEL ON THE LONG DIST HOP. ART GOEBEL, WINNER OF THE DOLE SEA RACE LAST YEAR, RECENTLY BROKE THE TRANS-CONTINENTAL NON-STOP RECORD BY FLYING FROM LOS ANGELES TO NEW YORK IN 18 HOURS. PHOTO SHOWS ART GOEBEL (LEFT) AND VICTOR CLARK AT MICROPHONE SHORTLY AFTER THE [...] AT MINES FIELD. [This note, Item Ark: 21198/zz002ctvf6, was filed with the negative]
