The Hamburger Home for Girls was founded by the Hamburger sisters: Jennie A. Marx, Belle A. Nathan and Evelyn Hamburger. Myron Hunt and HC Chambers are the credited architects for the Jewish Alliance Club House which would later be repurposed as the Hamburger Home for Girls.
This photograph is similar to one published with the article, "Merchant's Wealth Provides Shelter for Girls: Hamburger Home to Open," Los Angeles Times, 12 Jan. 1928: A1.
