Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Peirson Mitchell Hall was an attorney in the Los Angeles County who once served as a city councilman, U.S. attorney, and eventually a Los Angeles Superior Court judge. Because the negative sleeve labels Hall as a U.S. Attorney, we can assume that the photograph was probably taken between 1934, when the Griffith Observatory was completed, and 1937, when Peirson completed serving that post. Mrs. J. D. Fredericks, or Agnes M. Blakely, was the wife of attorney and former Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce President John D. Fredericks. Photograph of Peirson Mitchell Hall (left) and Mrs. J. D. Fredericks standing next to the Astronomers Monument at Griffith Observatory. Handwritten on negative: Pierson[sic] Hall, Mrs. J. D. Fredericks Text on negative sleeve: Hall, Pierson[sic] U.S. Attorney
