The scene is viewed from a bird's-eye perspective looking southwest. Broadway enters from the bottom right corner and stretches back into the distance at left. First Street intersects Broadway in the foreground. Parade participants ride on horseback at center as they turn left from Broadway and onto 1st Street. Parade floats are visible traveling down Broadway and towards camera. Spectators line 1st Street at left. More spectators line Broadway as it stretches into the distance.
