Keenan was made the Special Assistant to Attorney General Homer Stilile Cummings in 1933 and the Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1934. Joseph B. Keenan came to Los Angeles to assist US Attorney Peirson Hall in prosecuting a case of conspiracy to defraud the government. Text accompanying photograph in article: With the arrival of L.
