This photograph is similar to another one of the Central Library under construction captioned, "Where the World Opens to All Mankind Library Building as it Appears Today Structure is latest word in accommodation for all branches of the arts and includes rooms for everything from a sound-proof piano conservatory to a small court with fountain where the children can take their books. The library is expected to be completed and opened some time in either April or May," Los Angeles Times, 29 Nov. 1925: B2 Possibly related to the article, "NEW LIBRARY OPENING NEAR: Structure Contains Most Modern Facilities for Benefit of Los Angeles Reading Public Where the World Opens to All Mankind GREAT LIBRARY WILL OPEN SOON," Los Angeles Times, 29 Nov. 1925: B1 West Fifth Street spans the width of the bottom edge and stretches back on an angle to the right. It is viewed from an elevated perspective. Automobiles and a street car travel along the street. On the far side of West 5th Street, cars park along the curb. Beyond, the incomplete Central Library of the Los Angeles Public Library rises. It is viewed at an angle from the side and faces towards West 5th. The grand building is surrounded by scaffolding. A tower rises from its near corner. On the ground surrounding it, chicken wire fencing lines the perimeter of the construction site. A small shack and piles of lumber sit in front and to the left of the building. Some construction workers are visible milling about the site.
