Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Bird's-eye view of the Griffith Observatory facing south towards the straight line of Los Feliz Boulevard in the distance. The observatory appears to be in the final phase of completion, with the Astronomers Monument in place but with the parts of the walkway and the south end of E. Observatory Avenue unpaved. The Griffith Observatory was created using a design developed by architects John C. Austin and Frederick M. Ashley based on preliminary sketches by Russell W. Porter. Text from negative sleeve: L.A.
