Aimee McPherson was widely known for being an alleged kidnapping victim in 1926. Aimee McPherson convinced her followers to purchase real estate for Angelus Temple and was being charged with a fraud suit for taking commission on the transaction. From the letter: "Dear Mr. Henry: Back here in the hustle and flurry of a busy city I certainly remember the delicious restfulness and endearing beauty of Lake Tahoe.
