Miller poses in his car, which is covered in mud and dust from the road. The side of the car reads “San Francisco to New York in 83 hrs 12 min Total Elapsed Time.”
Louis B. Miller drove from San Francisco to New York and from New York to Los Angeles in the summer of 1927 in a record-breaking transcontinental automobile trip. He drove a Chrysler Imperial “80” phaeton.
