Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. W. W. Mines met with other state receivers at his home to discuss judicial impeachments of corrupt judges. This photograph appears with the article, "Judges in Receiver Quiz May Face Legislature," Los Angeles Times, 18 Mar 1932: A1. Judge Walter S. Gates (left) and W. W. Mines, newly appointed State Receiver, are seated in chairs next to each other in Mines's house. Behind them are a candelabra and wooden door. The two men each have a notepad and writing implement and are wearing three piece suits. They are turned towards each other, with Gates looking at Mines, and Mines looking at Gates's notepad.
