Robert G. Cleland (left), faculty dean, and Everett Dean Martin, Director of the People's Institute of Cooper Union in New York City, in caps and gowns for the Commencement ceremonies at Occidental College. Martin gave a lecture on "Education and leisure," at the commencement exercises.
Everett Dean Martin was an American minister, writer, journalist, instructor, lecturer, social psychologist, social philosopher, and an advocate of adult education.
