Possibly related to one of the following Los Angeles Times articles: 1. January 23, 1949, ‘La Traviata’ Will Be Sung in Pomona High. The Golden West Opera Company will present “La Traviata” in Pomona High School Auditorium Saturday night under auspices of the Pomona Valley Opera Club. Leading roles will be taken by Harold Reed, Maria de la Vega and Giovanni Zavatti. 2. June 5, 1949, Hollywoodians to Stage Opera. The public affairs section of the Woman’s Club of Hollywood will present the California Opera Theater in “La Traviata” in the clubhouse auditorium, 1749 N La Brea Ave., the night of June 17. The cast includes Maria de la Vega, Florence Timmerhoff, Pauline Farrell, Giovanni Zavatti, Harold Reed, Sidney Forrest, Arnet Amos, Al Bishoff and Orval Robertson. F. Camacho Vega is musical director. …
