(Lucky) Baldwin occupancy, now is open … Originally a ranch of the Mission San Gabriel Archangel, founded in 1771, the Rancho Santa Anita had many owners after the secularization of the the missions in 1833. Rancho Santa Anita later became the Arboretum of Los Angeles County. A portion of this adobe was the first building on the rancho; built in 1839 by Hugo Reid.
