Related to Los Angeles Times article, November 28, 1937, "A Day With the Sea Scouts. Sea Scouts of the Crescent Bay Council, Santa Monica, are shown on this page learning navigation and sea ways aboard their ship Pinta, which they reconstructed themselves from an old Navy whaleboat. They are among the 2000 Southland Sea Scouts who now are participating with their fellow Sea Scouts of California, Utah, Nevada and Arizona in the annual regional rendezvous at Balboa [peninsula]."
