Possibly related to the article “Air Depot Park Site Inspected, Councilmen Laud Griffith Field and Monday Set for Public Hearing.” Los Angeles Times, 20 Oct. 1928. The article states: “The City Council’s Finance Committee will hold a public hearing … on the proposal to use … land adjoining Griffith Park for a municipal air depot. … 175 acres are now in use as an airport and base for the air unit of the California National Guard.
