This photograph was part of the coverage taken for the Los Angeles Times article "Santa Barbara Fiesta Revives Days of Spanish Rule in California," 8/8/1930.
Float pulled by 2 horses, with greenery, a driver and riders in Spanish costumes in the parade of the Old Spanish Days Fiesta. A sign on the side of the float is partially legible: "...of Nature, fortitude and courage./The Spaniards came from Castille/Bringing with them Christ, the lord/and the ...with...and pain,/they founded the ...Mexico."
