Related to the article “Teachers of Speech End Meet, Educators Pick Stanford Man for President and Elect Other Officers.” Los Angeles Times, 30 Dec. 1932. The article states: “Dr. Lee Emerson Bassett, head of the division of public speaking at Stanford University, was elected president of the National Association of Teachers of Speech at the final session of the convention of that organization yesterday at the Biltmore. Miss Gladys Borchers … University of Wisconsin, was elected first vice-president and Mrs. Irene Poole … University of Michigan, second vice president. …”
