Commander Richard Byrd and his wife are followed by their traveling companions as they walk through a railroad yard. The group of about a dozen or so people walks through the image, towards the left. Commander Richard Byrd stands, second from the left, and leads the group. An unknown man (leftmost) walks ahead of him and converses with Commander Byrd. Mrs. Byrd (Marie A.) stands closer to camera, just off-center to the right. She carries a fur stole as she steps over a railroad track beam. Nearer to camera and to the right of her, an unknown man walks through through the tracks. At center, from left to right, Russell Owen and Alton Parker walk behind and between Commander and Mrs. Byrd. Russell Owen walks with a pipe hanging from his mouth as he carries a set of books. Alton Parker dons his military uniform. Behind the group, a train car sits on the tracks at center.
