The Norwegian whaler, C. A. Larsen, sails through the Port of Los Angeles at center as it approaches its dock. It is viewed from its port side, sailing towards the left. Text near the ship's bow reads, "C. A. Larsen." Along the port side of the ship, a tugboat assists the ship towards the dock. In the foreground, flags hang over the water and the dock juts into frame from the left edge.
