Laguna Beach artist George K. Brandriff standing by his painting entitled "Hit Me!" The painting depicts a clown toy, playing cards, and chips; the frame is composed of Los Angeles Times articles chiefly about the New Deal. This photograph was taken at the Biltmore Salon in Los Angeles, where an exhibition of Brandriff's Los Angeles Times-inspired paintings was held during May, 1933.
