This photograph is related to the Los Angeles Times article, "Turkey Shoot Begins Today, Police Offer Yule Birds in Contest," December 17, 1932.
Betty Carrillo, pointing a rifle, standing next to Police Chief Roy E. Steckel and Deputy Chief James E. Davis at a turkey shoot at the police pistol range in Elysian Park. There are 2 dead turkeys on the ground in front of the group. The shoot was conducted under the auspices of the Los Angeles Police Department Revolver Club. Davis was the president of the club at that time.
