Handwritten on negative: Jimmy Cherry This photograph is likely related to the article, “Cherry Breaks Aquatic Mark for Endurance,” Los Angeles Times, 15 Oct 1928: 11, 13. On October 14, 1928, former navy aquatic champion Jimmy Cherry set the endurance record for swimming by remaining in the Bimini Baths outdoor pool for sixty-five hours and two minutes.
