Clark’s casket, covered in flowers, is wheeled to the family mausoleum in the middle of a pond at the Hollywood Cemetery. This photograph is likely related to the article, “Clark Rites Conducted,” Los Angeles Times, 19 May 1932: A1. William Andrews Clark III died in a flying accident in Cottonwood, Arizona. His funeral was conducted in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Cemetery, where he was placed in the family mausoleum. Clark’s widow Mrs. Thelma Wyatt Clark, attended the services after escorting her husband’s body to Los Angeles from Arizona, where they had been living in recent months. Date on negative sleeve is incorrect, as is attribution to William Andrews Clark, Jr., who died in 1934. Corresponding negatives refer to the death of his son, William Andrews Clark III, in 1932. Text from negative sleeve: Clark, William A. Jr. Funeral, 1919
