The San Gabriel Dam is a rock-fill dam on the San Gabriel River in Los Angeles County, California, within the Angeles National Forest. It was under construction from 1932 to completion in 1939.

The term "Neil claim" probably refers to one of the many gold mining claims in San Gabriel Canyon. Those claims were ultimately purchased in the process of the planning and building of the San Gabriel Dam.
