Police Captain Ralph Davis (far left) with Rose Marie Heddens (wife of Harley Heddens), Clara Fournelle (Rose's sister), and her husband Leo Fournelle. The three were held as material witnesses in the case against Harley Heddens, accused of performing an illegal abortion leading to the death of Ruth Attaway. Rose Maire Heddens was later charged with her husband. The four are seated at table strewn with papers. Captain Davis holds a "Daily Police Bulletin," while Heddens and the Fournelles attempt to hide their faces from the camera.
