Sauvage was long-time Los Angeles correspondent for the British-owned Reuters wire news agency and was also an attorney. Louise Gilbert-Sauvage was a journalist and correspondent for two French-language magazines from Canada -La Revue Populaire and Le Samedi. The couple are noted in several Los Angeles Times articles, including one regarding French Canadians living in Los Angeles, "Cosmopolitan Los Angeles---French Canadians," 30 Jan. 1938: A5.
