The two men are viewed close-up and face one another as they smoke. Charles Dell Rubin smokes a large cigar. N. B. Grossman smokes a cigarette. He also wears a ribbon and medal on his lapel. The ribbon reads, "IT MUST BE BUTTE IN 1936." The shadowed convention hall occupies the background.
