Photograph appears with the article, "Herald of Former Days Will Lead Rose Parade," Los Angeles Times, 15 July 1935: A12.
John Denholm will be using the small artillery trumpet to herald the Pasadena Tournament of Roses parade, just as this trumpet has been used every year in the parade since 1910. For 25 years Denholm was the herald of the parade until 1931, when he moved East to Pennsylvania.
Wearing his military uniform, including hat and decretory medals, Lt. Denholm blows into the bugle.
