On the far right is Governor Harry W. Nice of Maryland, with his wife Edna, who is seated; they appear to be in a hotel room or a formal room. Standing behind Mrs. Nice is an unidentified man in a suit. Surrounding the man are six unidentified folk performers. This photograph was possibly taken when Governor Nice visited Los Angeles during July 1935 to speak at the Hotel Clark to the Los Angeles County Republican Assembly. While in Los Angeles, Governor Nice and his wife stayed at the Biltmore Hotel, visited M.G.M. studios, and were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette S. Rounsavelle.
