Florence Suddarth, secretary to an airline president, claimed that Royal Leonard, aviator, was the father of her 7 month old daughter, Royale Regina, and brought a suit against him asking for child support of $150/month. Leonard was judged the father of her child, and ordered to pay $50/month. Judge's name incorrect on negative sleeve, correct name is Judge Bowron. Related to several news stories regarding the paternity suit in the Los Angeles Times, dated August 3-September 14, 1935. Royal Leonard sits in the witness box of Judge Bowron's courtroom. He is resting his chin on his propped up left hand. The California state flag is behind him. The American flag is behind the judge's seat. Handwritten on negative sleeve: 1430. Royal Leonard.
