Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Walter N. Deutsch and his wife Delia Deutsch were arrested as part of a society burglary ring. They were accused of stealing $150,000 in furs, jewelry, and silverware. Related to several stories appearing in the Los Angeles Times regarding the society thefts, from June 24-September 12, 1935. This photograph was taken from somewhere low to the ground and aimed upwards. The upper bodies of Walter and Delia Deutsch can be seen. A decorated ceiling and frieze can be seen, along with a chandelier. A hat rack is behind Walter Deutsch. An unidentified man is to the left of the couple. Handwritten on negative sleeve: 1946.
