Fred Meyers, a barker for the Gold Gulch at the San Diego expo, was rescued from a disabled craft off Coronado Islands along with other passengers only a few days after his wedding, as reported in the Los Angeles Times, 9/6/1935, "Bridegroom in Group Escaping Sea Death."
