View of M. Franklin Kline, seated in glasses, collared shirt, tie, jacket, pants, and holding the Official Shippers Guide in lap at the Biltmore Hotel. Franklin Kline was the compiler and editor of the "Official guide for shippers & travellers to the principal ports of the world," a periodical reference book sponsored by the Osaka Mercantile Steamship Company. Kline spent most of his life traveling around the world in order to create the Shippers Guide.
