Richard Arlen's ex-wife since 1923 Ruth Austin Mattimore has taken the actor to court in order to appeal for more alimony so she can pay for her daughter's tuition at a private school in Pebble Beach, but Arlen's lawyer Jerome J. Mayo denied the alimony needed to be increased from $30 to $60 a week.

Text from newspaper caption: Mrs. Ruth Austin Mattimore, whose former husband is Richard Arlen, screen actor, is shown at the left as she appeared in court yesterday with her daughter, Rose Marie, 14 years of age. Mrs. Mattimore is asking an increase in her alimony, as her daughter wishes to attend a fashionable girls' school.
