Background: Train cars and engines lie in ruin, derailed with their parts strewn across the railroad accident site. Bystanders, men and women, look on the scene of the crash. Further in the background are wooden power lines, a town, and mountains. Two train engines can be identified that were part of the locomotive: 4355 and 2451, numbers both on signage affixed to each respective engine car. Also affixed to each train engine is the number 76. To the left of the image, is a sign that reads, West Glendale. The Southern Pacific Railroad locomotive had crashed into a seven-ton truck on the tracks in Glendale.
