Overview of locomotive accident from elevated angle, with both views of the railroad track visible. Foreground: Roof of train car. Photograph possibly shot from atop the car's roof. Background: Dozens of bystanders--men, women, and children--look on from either side of the derailed locomotive. Two train engines can be seen in this view of the wreckage, numbered, "2451" and "4355." A mechanical crane is is also pictured, possibly there to move the wreckage. Further back, a view of the town of Glendale can be seen, with power lines, small houses, white picket fences, and mountains. The Southern Pacific Railroad locomotive had collided with a seven-ton sand truck on the train tracks in Glendale. A dozen people were injured, with no fatalities.
