Dozens of bystanders--men, women, and teenagers--stand around totaled truck that is next to derailed locomotive. Debris and wreckage surround the smaller vehicle and train. The truck sits near what appears to be a railroad crossing bell, composed of a ringing mechanism atop a pole. The smaller vehicle has a 12 painted against its side. In background, billboard for lumber company is advertised for its location across the street. Additionally in background are power lines. This is most likely the truck which, according to the article, was responsible for the train collision. The Southern Pacific Railroad locomotive had collided with a seven-ton sand truck on the train tracks in Glendale. A dozen people were injured, with no fatalities.
