Doug Douglas smiles for the camera as he sits cross-legged holding a newspaper opened at the comics section. He wears a dark blazer with a light handkerchief, striped tie, and light pants. He appears to having graying hair. The background is blank. Douglas was a radio personality who narrated the comic strips found in the Times. The article relates that October 19 was Doug Douglas Day at the California Pacific International Exposition that was held in San Diego. Douglas was a main attraction for that day, as he told his audience of children how he makes the comics come to life on the radio.
