Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Five young women in dresses and hats sit or stand for a pose. The seated women are in lawn chairs and the upright ones stand against a fence railing. Behind them is shrubbery and an ivy-covered building. The girls posed for a piece promoting a charity dinner, hosted by their women's organization, Chi Alpha Epsilon of Pasadena. Pictured (in no particular order) are: vice-president, Jane Elizabeth Hopkins; president, Marjorie May; secretaries, Jeanne Vaillancourt and Stephanie Coughran; and Helen Lorraine Fiedler. Other possible iterations of "Jeanne Vaillancourt" in the Los Angeles Times may include "Jean Vallancourt," "Valiencourt," and other spellings of her last name. "Jeanne Vaillancourt" was the most commonly found name. Additionally, in the newspaper, Fiedler was known more by her middle name of "Lorraine" rather than her real first name of "Helen." Related to article, "Pasadena Sub-debs Plan Gala Charity Benefit."
