Young friends Ray Palomaa and Sam Hewitt jokingly admonish (Mance) Eugene Wiggins. Palomaa stares straight at the camera, while Hewitt grins and points at Wiggins who's holding a book and looking off to the side. Wiggins had become stranded on a natural ledge within Chavez Ravine after he decided to go exploring in the formation. His friends, Palomaa and Hewitt, who were watching from the ground below, called for help when they realized he was trapped.
